Listen to Obituary

Colete, "CC", CoCo or as she was affectionately known by her friends and family as Coconut was born on November 23rd, 1974 to her military parents Randy Coleman and Michele Coleman at Naval Air Station Bermuda.

Colete grew up in Northeast Kansas City, Missouri. During her school years, she developed a passion for theater, music, dance, and photography where she met many of her life-long friends. Colete became a mother at the gentle age of 18 which became the most rewarding role. She devoted her life to her two children, Brittany and Alexus. As they grew older, she spent most of her days attending basketball, volleyball, football, softball, and cheerleading events.

Colete was a natural born leader always willing to pass along a little wisdom to family and friends. She was kindhearted and compassionate almost to a fault but could be bold and frank if she thought that was what was needed. She has been sassy since birth and was always game for a good prank.

She would want everyone to remember her as a very spiritual woman, a real prayer warrior, always ready to do battle with the devil on anyone’s behalf. Colete was an honorable, hardworking, and very determined individual. She touched the lives of everyone she met, truly one of a kind.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Lloyd and Genevieve Hassell, her paternal grandparents Harvey and Marilyn Coleman.

Colete is survived by her parents; Randy and Michele, sisters; Natalie Pickens, and Christina Batliner, brother; Christopher Coleman, and her two daughters; Brittany Coleman and Alexus Smith
