Listen to Obituary

Constance Eileen Bryant was born on December 26, 1942, to Elmer Bryant Sr., and Velma Maxine Brooks in Kansas City, MO. She was the fourth of six children. Her parents, Elmer Bryant Sr, and Velma Brooks; and three siblings, Sandra Boyd, Rudolph Bryant, and Elmer Bryant Jr. all preceded her in death.

Constance was educated in the Kansas City Missouri Public School system where she attended Manual High School for a short time and later received a GED.

Constance worked many jobs throughout her lifetime. Her most recent job was as an Assembly Worker at JC Penny Distribution Center until her health began to fail, forcing an early retirement.

She was the matriarch of the family. Constance loved to cook and have family gatherings. Her favorite holidays and gathering times were the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. She truly loved her family, and her home was a revolving door as she always extended her hands of love and compassion to everyone in need.

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Michelle Bryant, Penny Sims, Dedree Carlisle, and Nena Bryant; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce Wynne; her brother, Mitchell Bryant Sr.; 2 of her best friends, Jeanette Wilkens, and Lois Lakey (better known as the Gang Gang); a very special friend, Robert Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
