Cortez A. Rodriquez

Cortez A. Rodriquez, Sr. was born on January 30, 1944 to Tony and Hazel Rodriquez in Kansas City, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Michael Walker and Roy Rodriquez; three sons, Torrez Anthony Rodriquez, Anthony Rodriquez and Corey Knight and grandson, Montez H. Rodriquez Jr.

Cortez believed in God and accepted Christ at an age. He had a strong passion for boxing and being a DJ. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. Cortez had a smile that would light up a dark room.

He married Shirley Morris on November 7, 1977. They were happily married for 40 years.

Cortez is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shirley Rodriquez; 7 daughters, Carla Landers (James), Shawn Morris (Demond), Shikara Rodriquez – White (Marvin), Cornetta Rodriquez (Russell), Chantal Rodriquez and Margo King; Six sons, Dominique Rodriquez, Cortez Rodiquez (Toni), Montez Rodriquez, Ortega King, Montze SmithAnthony Rodriquez; six sisters; Sherry Luster (Steve), Audrea Pennington (Gene), Hazel Boyd (Frankie), Marquita McIntosh ( Russell), Mornette Walker, and Gail Walker, brother; Johnnie Walker (Beverly). Cortez had 63 grandkids, and 25 great-grandkids and along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and dear friends.
