Dairion Carvell Dawson

With heavy hearts and profound love, we celebrate the life of Dairion Carvell Dawson, affectionately known as, “Lil Dee”, and later simply, “Dee”. Dairion was born on March 22, 2007, in Kansas City, Missouri, to his loving parents, Courtney V. Day and Dairiz C. Dawson.

On June 7, 2026, at the age of 19, Dairion departed this earthly life, leaving behind cherished memories and an everlasting impact on all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Odell J. Jackson IV, great grandparents, Luther J. Peterson, Sr and Lela R. Peterson.

From the very beginning, Dairion’s big, expressive eyes and radiant smile captured the hearts of everyone around him. He possessed a personality that could light up any room and had a remarkable sense of humor that brought laughter and joy wherever he went. A natural comedian, Dairion had a way of making others smile, even on difficult days. He enjoyed worshiping at City of Truth Church (The City KC) under the leadership of Pastor AD3.

Dairion attended Blue Springs High School, where he spent his junior and senior years. During that time, he proudly served as a member of the school’s cheer team and was known for his athletic ability and love of performing flips. His energy, school spirit, and vibrant personality made him unforgettable to classmates and friends alike. He also worked in the after-school program at Thomas Ultican Elementary School, where his caring nature and love for children began to shine.

Following his graduation from Blue Springs High School, Dairion worked at Sonic Drive-In before enrolling at Metropolitan Community College–Penn Valley, where he pursued a degree in Elementary Education. His dream was to become an elementary school teacher, a career that perfectly reflected his kind heart, gentle spirit, and genuine love for helping others. Dairion was compassionate, thoughtful, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Though his time with us was far too brief, the love, laughter, and light that Dairion shared will remain with us forever. We find comfort in knowing that one day we will meet again, and until then, his memory will forever live in our hearts.

Dairion leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving parents, Courtney V. Day and Dairiz C. Dawson; his grandparents, Darlene Guess (Uyland), Victor Day, Carma Robinson (Earl) and George Dawson (Naomi), his great-grandmother, Cynthia Hunter; uncles: Christopher Baynham, Dominick Guess and Sir George Dawson; aunt, Carmesha Dawson; bonus grandmother, Sharon Jackson; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends who will deeply miss his presence and forever treasure the love he shared.

Though gone from our sight, Dairion’s bright smile, 
loving spirit, and beautiful soul will never be forgotten. 
His memory will remain forever in our hearts, 
until we meet again.
