Daniel Paul Williams, 65, passed away on March 28, 2025, at his home in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was born on December 15, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Daniel Randolph and Dorothy Williams. His mother remarried Deacon Johnny Jones, and together they raised Daniel.
Daniel confessed his love for Christ at an early age. During this time, he gained a great appreciation for singing and sang in the family singing group called the “Jones Family” under the leadership of his mother.
Daniel attended Manual High School. He began his apprenticeship in Illinois as a carpenter, learning the trade under his grandfather, Elder Joseph Beard, a skilled master craftsman. During his apprenticeship, he assisted his grandfather with building a church in Cairo, IL.
Daniel served in the United States Army. He was an independent construction contractor for over 40 years. Up until his passing, he worked for the United States Post Office alongside his daughter, Ishaun Williams, and granddaughter, Eleisa Williams.
Daniel loved his family and was a hands-on dad that would do anything for his family. He was continually interactive with his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, siblings, and cousins. He was the person who kept up with everyone. He was loved and known by his family as “Baby Brother” or “Babra,” and he was also known as “$ Bill” by his friends and clients.
He loved to work with his hands by sharing his gift of renovating homes for others. He would leave one job and go and help someone else.
He was a fun-loving person with a contagious laugh and would have you laughing along with him.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon Jonny and Sis. Dorothy Mae Jones; his father, Daniel Randolph; and his siblings: Alice Jones, Mary Logan, Lucille Moorehead, Jeannie Mae Horne, Imogene Buckner, Isaac Jones, and Jacob Jones.
Daniel is survived by his companion of 20 years, Veronica Richards, and his four loving daughters, Sha’Mera Williams, I’Shaun Williams, La’Rhyzha Williams, and Ly’Keisha Williams; one brother, Anthony Williams (Ramona) of Kansas City, MO; four sisters: Carolyn Omoruyi, of Kansas City, MO; Denita Johnson (Larry), of Raymore, MO; Ann Cohens, of Kansas City, MO; Gloria Blaylock, of Pine Bluff, AR; his grandchildren: Eleisa, I’Monti, Desean, Vince, Sha’Miya, A’Riya, Nasir, Terreon, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
