Daphyne Moore was born December 6th, 1961 to Ruby and Clifford “Red” Reese in Kansas City, Missouri. She gained her wings on November 21st, 2023 at Kansas City Hospice and was preceded in death by her father Red. Daphyne along with her siblings attended and graduated from Lincoln High. During her time at Lincoln, she participated in volleyball and danced for the Tigerettes.
Outside of school Daphyne marched for the drill team the Marching Cobras. She also enjoyed listening and singing along to her favorite Gospel songs and some good old school music. If there was music playing you could expect to see her up two stepping or doing some of her favorite line dances. She loved spending time with her family and often made the people around her laugh.
Daphyne began working at The Isle of Capri Casino over 20 years ago as a slot attendant. She also worked part time at Walmart for several years and gained the adoration of those around her. While at the casino, Daphyne was nominated for and won employee of the month for her outstanding work. She was also a member of Macedonia Baptist Church until her passing.
Daphyne was loved by many, and she now watches over her siblings Eric (Paulette), Richetta (Nathaniel), Carmen, Gerren (Terri), Angela, Tonya Moore and mother Ruby Reese. As well as her children Clyde (Jada) Brown, Dejuan Moore, and Miesha Finch-Moore and three grandchildren Diamond Brown, Kinsley Moore, and Kairo Payne. She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, more family, and close friends.
