Mrs. Darlene McCombs-Graham was born January 1, 1956, to the union of Rev. John L., Sr. and Earther L. McCombs in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday December 26, 2020 after a very, very short illness. She is preceded in death by her father, Rev. John L. McCombs, Sr.

Darlene accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the pastorage of her father, Rev J.L. McCombs, Sr, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer, Arkansas.  She united with Concorde Fortress of Hope in Kansas City, Missouri in 2001, under the leadership of Rev. Ron Lindsay.

She received her education at 34th Street Elementary School and graduated from Pine Bluff High School.  After moving to Kansas City, Missouri, Darlene was employed by South Park Care Center as receptionist and later staffing coordinator. She was later employed by Swope Ridge Geriatric Center as Medical Records Supervisor for 23 years, retiring December 2019.

She was united in marriage to Kevin Graham, December 30, 2018. Although there were no children born to this union, she had a role in the life of her stepdaughter, LaShondra Graham.  Affectionately known as Auntie Darlene, she played a very important role of “second mother” I the life of EACH AND EVERY niece and nephew in the McCombs family and was loved by them all. She will be remembered for her sweet personality and her kindness to all who know and loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Mr. Kevin Graham, her mother, Earther L. McCombs of Kansas City, MO, two sisters, Mrs. Faye (John) Yates and Mrs. Johnnie Fountaine both of Kansas City, MO, four brothers Jerry McCombs, John L. Jr (Joyce) McCombs both of Kansas City, MO, James McCombs of Glendale, AZ, and Jeffery McCombs of Richardson, TX, and her stepdaughter LaShondra Graham, Mother-in-law Mrs. Delores Graham four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law. Special Friends, Jean Johnson, Nancy Battaglia, Linda Buckner, Marilyn Brooks and Sidney Smith, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
