Listen to Obituary

Darnell Claybron King, 35, passed away on April 29, 2025, in Kansas City, MO.  He was born November 13, 1989, in Kansas City, MO, to Claybron Leford King and Sandra Denise (Neal) Hoskins. He grew up in the inner city, most notably the 56th block of South Benton.

Darnell accepted Jesus Christ at a very young age.  He was a member of Grace Assembly of God for most of his life.  Darnell sang in the choir and was in church at least three times a week starting as early age of three years old.  Darnell had God in his heart; the love he had was God given.

Whenever you saw Darnell, surely his twin Carnell was close by. No bond like the bond of a twin, this bond was tried and true.  No matter how you knew the twins, if you thought of one twin, you naturally thought of the other.  They will forever be one.

He was big on family, as that was his favorite thing to do.  Darnell was the glue to many friendships and the bridge holding family together.  Quick to pick up the phone and facetime you or not afraid to hop in the car to come and make sure that you were okay.  He loved his kids so much...they were his world.  Darnell was such a good father, always willing to play games with them, while always keeping a smile, on his face no matter what Darell had him doing, LOL!

He met his longtime partner Tiffany back in high school.  Through it all, Tiffany was always present at every family event, and their love was infectious.  Out of that union, three beautiful babies were born.

Darnell was a hard worker, throughout his years no matter what job he had, a promotion was soon to follow.  He learned the value of hard work as a child and excelled in the workforce.  He worked for Logoplaste as a team lead where he worked for over five years.

When he wasn’t spending time with his kids, he was an avid gamer with an interest in becoming a global streamer.  Darnell also loved to journal his thoughts and goals.  You could read of his big dreams that always began with acknowledging God and incorporating family and the King name.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Roy King, Sr., Linda Neal, and Carl Neal.

He is survived by his parents, Claybron King and Sandra Hoskins (Antonio); children: Precious King, Darnell King, Jr., and Darell King; their mother, Tiffany Williams; siblings: Candace Neal, Carlton King, Carnell King, Clarence King, Lu'Sean King, Emmy King and Jeremy Smith; grandmother, Nina King, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
