Born to Barbara Strong and Raleigh Player, Darryl Keith Strong Sr. made his earthly entrance into this world on June 12, 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri. Growing up in Kansas City, he received his education through the Kansas City Missouri Public School District.
Darryl was gainfully employed at Midway Ford Collision Center (Midway Ford Truck Center) for 37 years working his way up to Foreman/Assistant Manager, until he was forced to retire due to health reasons.
He later met and married Teresa Michelle White, and two children were born to this union. Darryl and Teresa moved their family to Grandview, Missouri where they remained as they raised their children.
Darryl loved to grill. He spent a lot of time in his “Backyard Oasis” which has numerous grills and smokers. He made sure to let you know, “Each one has a different function!”
Darryl also loved to fish; he would go fishing any time his schedule allowed. Not taking any time at all to fill up the freezer with fish. He loved taking out his boat to go fishing. This he took as a challenge to find “The Honey Hole!” He also took pride in the cooking of his fish, had it down to an art form (it was quite tasty!)
Darryl made his heavenly departure on November 20, 2025, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters, Voncille Strong and Debra Walker.
He leaves to cherish his many memories; his loving wife of 35 years Teresa Strong; daughter, Brittany Strong of Grandview, MO; son, Darryl “D.J.” Strong (Kylah) of Liberty, MO; two brothers: Michael Johnson (Brenda) of Vian, OK and Reginald Strong of Springdale, AR; three sisters: Aquanette Carter (Ray), Angela Strong-Sigars (Robert), Renee Wright (Martin) all of Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
