David Eugene Skannal, 66, passed away on February 15, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. He was born June 17, 1954 in Kansas City, KS to Willie and Lillie Skannal. He was educated in the Kansas City Public School system and graduated from Central High School in 1972. He attended Drury College in Springfield, MO where he received bachelor’s degrees in economics and Business Administration. He later attended DeVry Institute of Technology where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems. He worked as a supervisor and clerk for the United States Postal Service for 23 years. He later transferred to the Social Security Administration and worked as a Benefit Authorizer until he retired in June 2020.

David married the love of his life, Sherri Benton on August 25, 1990. They were happily married for 30 years. His sense of humor was off the charts! He enjoyed traveling, spending time with the grandkids and ministering to people about Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lillie Mae Skannal.

He is survived by his father Willie Skannal; his wife Sherri Skannal; daughters, Tennille Benton and Davida (Joseph) Mobley; sons, DeWayne Skannal and David I. (Araceli) Skannal; seven grandchildren; nine siblings and a host of other relatives and friends.

Service will be live streamed for online viewing.
