Deacon Glen A. Taylor

Deacon Glen Taylor was born on August 9, 1961, in Tipville, Tennessee, to the late Charles Taylor and Dorothy Mae Scott. He later moved to Sikeston, Missouri, where he was raised and graduated from Matthew High School.

Growing up in the country, Glen developed a deep appreciation for farm life. It was there that his lifelong love for lawns, tractors, and outdoor equipment first took root. What began as a childhood passion became one of the many ways he found joy and served others throughout his life.

Glen dedicated 19 years of faithful employment to Triangle Wire Company before relocating to Kansas City, Missouri. There, God blessed him with the love of his life, Lesia Taylor, whom he married and built a life centered on faith, family, and service.

As his walk with Christ deepened, Glen answered God's call to ministry and was ordained as a Deacon. He faithfully served his family, his church, and his community with humility, compassion, and unwavering devotion. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing words of encouragement, or praying with those in need, Deacon Glen lived out his faith each day. His life was a testimony that serving God meant serving people.

On June 22, 2026, Deacon Glen Taylor peacefully entered into eternal rest at his home, surrounded by his devoted wife and loving family. Though his earthly journey has ended, his legacy of faith, love, kindness, and service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.

Deacon Glen was preceded in death by his parents: Charles Taylor and Dorothy Mae Scott; his siblings: Larry Taylor, Mary Wilson, and Fenita Wilson; and his brothers-in-law: Joseph Marshall and Donald Easley.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted wife, Lesia Taylor; his Children: Austin Taylor, Jadyn, Jessica, DJ, Malik, Cously, Margaret and Christopher; his brothers: Walter (Joyce) Scott of Sikeston, Missouri, and William (Margo) Scott of Charleston, Missouri; and his sisters: Paulette Lee of Elgin, Illinois, Dorothy (Mike) Childress of St. Louis, Missouri, Lisa Easley of Sikeston, Missouri, and Rosie (McArthur) Green of Sikeston, Missouri.

He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and dear friends who loved him deeply and will forever cherish his legacy of faith, kindness, humility, and love.
