Demetrius ‘MeMe' Dannell Draper was born on March 1, 1977 in Kansas City, Missouri to Machon Draper and Wallace Taylor. He was the second oldest of nine children. Demetrius ‘MeMe' Dannell Draper died unexpectedly on March 29, 2016 in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 39. Demetrius was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Floyd and Hattie Draper. Demetrius attended Southwest High School. He was full of life, happy, and kindhearted. MeMe's family and friends were an important part of his life. He was always front and center for family oriented gatherings ready to have a good time. He also loved children and people; often time doing whatever he could to help those he came in contact with, even protesting for a cause. If you didn't see ‘MeMe' with family or friends, you could find him playing video games with family and friends. He loved watching sports, the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, or anything educational. Demetrius ‘MeMe' Dannell Draper leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Machon Draper and Wallace Taylor; six brothers: Derrick Draper (two daughters), Damien Draper (three sons), Terrance ‘Tee' Draper, Deon Draper (three sons), Domique Draper (one son), Danzell ‘ManMan' Draper (one son), and god brother, Bryan Hopskins; two sisters, Machon ‘Kenae' Draper and Larisha ‘Shantee' Draper; eight nephews: one whom lived with us, D'Ante ‘Kiree' Draper; two nieces, Kiya Draper and Ly'Ryck Draper; grandmother, Edna Draper; grandfather, Benjamin Clark; uncles: Floyd Draper (Shelly), Ricky Draper (Donna), Clifford Draper, Cletia Draper (Gio), Donnell Draper, Casey Draper; aunts: Melissa May, Lolita Wesley (Charles), Jan Draper; and a host of other family, cousins and friends. Rev. Kenneth Price will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Demetrius ‘MeMe' Draper.
