De’Ron Corteas McHenry, age 18, passed away on June 15, 2025, at Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on December 2, 2006, in Kansas City to Michael McHenry and Deanna Miles.
De’Ron attended East High School and later Grandview High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically—especially in basketball, a sport he deeply loved.
He was employed at Advanced Drainage Systems as a Downstream Technician, a position he held until his unexpected passing.
De’Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Deion Miles; his grandmother, Monica Willingham; his aunt, Pam Rucker, his grandfather, Moses Lanier Waiters; his cousin, Mitchell Powell McHenry; and his stepmother, Kay Kay McHenry.
A true family man at heart, De’Ron was known for his mature spirit and warm presence. He had a deep appreciation for R&B music, was an avid Golden State Warriors fan, and enjoyed playing video games. His life was defined by love, laughter, and connection. De’Ron was a devoted son, a loving brother, and a loyal friend. His bright smile and uplifting spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He leaves behind his loving parents, Deanna Miles and Michael McHenry; his grandmother, Brenda Allen; and his siblings: Daneisha Williams, Ke’Von Nelson, Mikecia Walker, Michael McHenry II, Taneika McHenry, Mikiela McHenry, and D’Monica McHenry. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends.
