Derray Ra'Von Douglas

May 6, 1987 — October 23, 2018

Listen to Obituary

Derray R. Douglas, Sr., affectionately called “Ray Ray” was born May 6, 1987 to Angelique Lindsey and Danny Ray Douglas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Ray Douglas, paternal grandparents, Rosana and Karl Douglas, grandfathers, Fred Nicholson and Reginald Brown, four uncles and 6 aunts.

Derray accepted Christ at an early age at Spruce St. Matthews. Derray graduated from Southwest High School Class of 2005. He also attended Penn Valley Community College majoring in Radiology.

He worked for Starlight Theater as one of their grill cooks.

He enjoyed playing basketball, working out, and he loved to talk. I mean talk and debate on several issues.

Derray was family oriented, he loved spending time with his siblings, friends, and the “ladies.” He was a very outgoing person who loved to go out and eat.

He had a fetish with shoes, he liked to buy Jordans in every kind, whatever was the latest fashion. He was the most humble person you could ever meet. You could talk to him about anything.

Derray took pride in taking care of his son. Also he was a “Grandma’s Boy”, he stuck with her until he acquired his wings.

Derray leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Angelique Lindsey; his only son, Derray R. Douglas, Jr.; his grandmother, Edythe Lindsey, grandfather, James Lindsey; siblings: Keith Carnes, Jr., Danny L. (Tenisha) Mason, Terrell Mason, Keith Carnes, II, Fred White, Dana L. (Eric), Tyneishia Sanders, Desirae L. Nugent, Danielle L. Nugenc; four nieces, four nephews, special niece, Okeirrah Carnes and special nephew, Omaurion Brocks, Kathryn (Kenneth) Hill; aunts: Carmen McReny. Cathy Douglas, Reba Lindsey, Crystalgale Lindsey, Constance Lindsey, Ora Douglas, Pamela Douglas, Gerald Nash, Linda K. (Robert) Everett, Aunt Wanda, Aunt Linda; uncles: David Sanders, Sr., Clarence Hamilton, Austin Lindsey, James Lindsey, Jr., Houston Lindsey, Kim Milligan, Sr., Michael Mathews. Along with a host of other relatives and friends.
