Derrick Lamont Horton

Derrick Lamont Horton Sr. was born January 27, 1978 in Kansas City, MO to Karen Ann Horton and Charles Edward Drone. He is the second to last child out of six children. He was preceded in death by his mother Karen Ann Horton.

Derrick graduated from Washington High School in 1996. He also attended Kansas City KS Area Technical School. His passion was drawing, cars, and making people laugh.

On May 2, 2003, he married the love of his life Christin Leanna Horton. Born to this union were three children, Derrick Horton Jr., Sydni Horton, and Gabrielle Horton. Derrick was a proud father who adored his wife and children, they were his world.

Derrick was raised in church. He was baptized at Bethel Pentecostal as a child. He comes from a long line of preachers.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Christin Horton, his children Derrick Horton Jr (D.J), SydniChristin Horton (Sydni), Gabrielle Horton (Gabbi) all of Kansas City, KS, his father Charles Drone Stuttgart, AR, his mother Lois Lewis (Robert) of Kansas City, KS, his grandparents Daniel Drone (Mary) Little Rock, AR, his siblings Chaka Pleasant of Gary Indiana (Jayjouir), Maurice Purnell of Moss Bluff, LA, Dominique Horton of Kansas City, MO, LaTochia Dew of Kansas City, KS, Shalise Abson (Dion) of Kansas City, KS, and Rachel Lewis of Kansas City, KS. He also leaves his nieces and nephews MJ, Brandi, Markeya, Meghan, Steven, Jayjouir, A’Jae, Dakota, Zion, Jaedis, Eionna, Emanii, Adaiyah, great niece Alison, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
