Dewitt Byers Jr, 55 of Kansas City Missouri passed on June 29, 2022, at St Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City Missouri. He was surrounded by family and close friends. He was born on May 16, 1967 the fourth of five children born to Dewitt Byers Sr. and Betty L Byers.
Dewitt attended George Melcher Elementary school and He was a graduate of Van Horn High School in Independence Mo, in 1985. During his high school years, he enjoyed playing football and basketball which helped lead his team to state in 1984. He then attended Kansas City Kansas Community College on a scholarship to play basketball. Dewitt accepted a job with the railroad, which he worked for 22 years. Dewitt was a passionate person that loved spending time with his family. He loved watching football, basketball, and loved his old school music and 2-stepping. Dewitt was preceded in death by his dad, Dewitt Byers Sr., and his sister, Betty Lynette Harris.
Dewitt leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Cynthia Denise Byers; his mother, Betty L. Byers; two daughters, Cheyenne Denise Byers, and Cydney Nicole Byers; two step-daughters, Cierra Butts, and Cynea Butts; three sisters, Sherri Byers (Dirk), Dana Byers, and Kimberlyn Alexander (Joe); four nephews, Antonio Byers, Garron Reeves, Darius Alexander, and Tayshaun Harris; two nieces, Valencia Alexander, and Breanna Washington; two great-nieces, Aliyah Byers, and Allayah Byers. Dewitt also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
