Diane Denise Gold

Diane Denise (Carlock) Gold, age 71, was born to Hoyle Carlock and Eva Vernice Stewart at KU Medical Center on March 12, 1954. Due to complications of the heart, Diane departed this life at Research Medical Center on November 28, 2025.

Diane, known as Nanny, to most, was born 7th of eight children and was preceded in death by both parents; Eva and Hoyle, as well as her four brothers: Hoyle “Buddy” Carlock, Carl Edward Carlock, Leroy “Peachie” Carlock, Claude “Chico” Carlock; and two sisters: Myrtlene “Myrt” Webb, Ruby Robinson-Henderson (Lee).

Spending her elementary years in Kansas City, Kansas, before moving to Kansas City, Missouri, Diane graduated from Paseo High School in 1972. After graduation Diane joined the team at Hallmark Cards Inc. as a systems analyst where she remained until her retirement in 2007. Diane spent her retirement doing the things she loved; gardening, shopping, taking pictures, listening to old school R&B, and watching sports. She also enjoyed the company of her children, grandchildren, other family members and friends.

Left to cherish Diane's memory: her two sons, Bryan K. Gold (Dana) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Antoine D. Moody of Kansas City, Missouri. She also leaves to mourn her sister, Rachelle “Shelly” Berymon (Ronnie); her goddaughter, Myrtlene “Nina” Webb; the father of her eldest son, Larry J. Gold, and her lifelong friend, Larry J. Moody all of Kansas City, Missouri; her grandchildren: Bryan “BJ” Gold Jr. of Lawrence, Kansas, Danielle Gold of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Bryanna Gold, Bryon Gold, Trevon Moody, and Terrance Moody, all of Kansas City, Missouri, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
