Dominic D. Young Jr (aka Ookie) was born on August 28, 2008 in Kansas City, MO to parents Dominic D. Young Sr. and Christine Anderson. He was a student at Ingles Elementary School in Hickman Mills School District. Our young prince was in the 3rd grade.
DJ was a daddy’s boy and always looked forward to being with him. They played their video games, watched TV, took trips and went to many of the Chiefs games together. Wherever dad was, DJ was there on his heels, trying to emulate his father. He would always tell his mom, “I'm going to take care of you and my sisters when I grow up.” He would kiss his mom every time he left her presence and say “Momma, I love you and see you later okay."
DJ loved his family very much and he showed that love with his one of a kind smile, showing his deep dimples that would melt your heart every time. Our young prince DJ got his nickname Ookie because of his big eyes that were so breath taking. DJ showed himself to be a helper to all the family, and protector to his siblings and cousins. He especially enjoyed the time spent with them. He would play video games, football, and loved family outings. DJ loved sports and wanted to become a football player. He always talked about getting older and going to Africa and Hawaii, and about helping the homeless when we would pass by them. DJ is our angel we all will always love and cherish him always and forever... We love you Ookie!
