In Loving Memory
Don Eric Bell, 78, a devoted father and retired veteran, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. His life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to serving others.
Born on October 3, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, to proud parents Herman Graham Bell Sr. and Dorcas Marie Bell, Don was raised with a deep sense of family and community. He received his education from the Kansas City Public School District. In 1969, Don began his dedicated service to the United States by enlisting in the United States Army. He bravely fought in the Vietnam War; earned a college degree; received multiple awards and achievements and rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class. After over 35 years of dedicated service, he retired with honors in 2004.
Don had a passion for computers, a love for sports, and cherished the role of being a father.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Courtney Bell, Marsha Bell, and Sheila Battles. While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort knowing he is reunited with those he loved.
Left to cherish Don's memory: his son, Donzell Jackson; his bonus children: Tiffany Jackson Adisa and Anthony Jackson; his sisters: Herma Jean Young and Sylvia Bell; his brothers: Herman Bell Jr. and Eddie Bell; the mother of his children, Theresa Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends across the Kansas City area.
Although Don may no longer walk beside us, his legacy of love, dedication, and devotion will forever remain etched in our hearts. His life exemplified what it means to care deeply for others and to serve selflessly.
He will be profoundly missed, but his legacy will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
