Donald Alonzo Conway aka Bucky was born August 5, 1962 in Kansas City, MO to Ronald Conway and Barbara Conway. He was the fourth of five children. Donald dedicated his life to the Lord at an early age. He has been a member of Morning Star Baptist Church since childhood. Donald attended Lincoln Sr. High School and graduated in 1981. During his time at Lincoln Donald excelled in all activities with football being his first love. Donald was also a bass drummer for the Marching Cobras. Donald then attended Northwest Missouri State University before entering the United States Navy. Donald served in the military for 22 years. While in the military Donald earned many accolades which led to earning the rank of DCC - Damage Controlman Chief (Surface Warfare). His medals include Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, National Defense Medal (2), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy "E" Ribbon (4), Navy Good Conduct Medal (5), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (5), GWOT Service Medal, and GWOT Expeditionary Medal. Donald retired on May 31, 2006 from the United States Navy. In September 1987, Donald married Evette Rich and to this union three children were born, Briana, Dominique and Donald Jr. Previous to this union he also had another child by the name of Jasmine Taylor. Donald loved his children dearly and was very proud of their many accomplishments. Donald was truly a comedian and a very likable person to all. He would go out of his way to help any and every one that he encountered, no matter what. He was a very caring and selfless person. He was a true Kansas City Chiefs Fan, Royals Fan and Missouri Tigers Fan. He was always the bright light of any situation and loved to dance. Donald was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Donald departed this life on February 18, 2017. He is survived by his daughters Jasmine Taylor, Briana Conway and Dominique Conway; one son Donald A. Conway Jr.; his mother Barbara Conway; one brother Ira Conway (Brenda); five sisters, Demetreia Conway (Byron), Ronette Conway, Leona Gray (David), Antoinette Jones and Ronnika Conway; a total of 33 nieces and nephews; a very true and dedicated (brother from another mother) Gerren Moore; a special friend, Leona Simpson and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Conway. Donald will be truly missed.
