Donald Lee Baylis Sr. was born on June 2,1949 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the 2nd born child of Henry J. Baylis I & Charlene (Boyles) Baylis. Both parents, sister: Carmen Winters; brother: Darrell Baylis; nephews: Aaron, Donald and Antjuan Baylis; great nephew: Antonio Winters; great niece: Lanaye Baylis; sister-in-law: Shelia Baylis; and brother-in-law: Luther Beaver proceeded him in death.

He attended school in the KCMO Public School System, graduating in 1968 from Paseo High School, where he was a member of the Track Team. Donald joined the U.S Army after graduating where he was honorably discharged in 1972. He worked for Allis Chalmers as a Welder retiring in 1996. He later worked for the Metro(KCATA) retiring in 2015. Donald married Gertrude Brasson on May 22,1973. To this uion was 3 children Calandra, LaDonna and Donald Jr. This marriage was later dissolved. Donald married Meredith Holt on June 17, 2006, who was by his side until death. Donald loved working in his mancave, where he made electronic football fields, working on his computer or anything technical. Donald loved taking pictures of family, bowling, and baseball.

Donald leaves to mourn his wife: Meredith Baylis; daughters: Calandra Brasson and LaDonna Baylis; son: Donald Lee Baylis Jr(Jacqueline), stepchildren; Courtney Holt, Erica Jenkins, Ebony Holt; grandchildren: Cameron Brasson, Kennedy Brasson, Jeremiah Baylis, Alexis Smith, Jazmine Baylis, Malachi Baylis; ten step grandchildren; sisters: JoAnn Beaver, Renee Bennett(Clarence), Yvette Baylis-Leap; brother: Henry Baylis II; uncle: Robert Lee Boyles Sr, a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
