Donna Lacheryl Pratt

Donna LaCheryl Pratt, 67, passed away on June 7, 2023 at her place of residence in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on January 5, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri to Donald Edgar Mitchell and Xenia Mitchell (Allen). She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and Buffalo, New York. She graduated from Southeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. After high school she had a handsome son, Antonio LeVelle Mitchell in 1973. She then had a beautiful baby girl, La’Vena Nicole King (Pratt) in 1978. She worked at Hallmark Cards for many years. She then moved back to Buffalo, New York for several years and worked at Sister’s Hospital. Coming back to Kansas City, Missouri, she worked down at Crown Center, Coverall, Kansas City Public School District and Hickman Mills School District as a custodian. She loved to dance (2 Step was her favorite), singing and listening to the sounds of music. She loved playing cards of all sorts, but most of all she could beat you in a hand of Spades and had no remorse and a game of bones (Dominoes). She stayed in the kitchen and cooked and baked whatever you requested. She loved plants and had not just a green thumb for it, but a green hand. She enjoyed her crime shows such as Law and Order and Columbo to name a few and watched all court shows. She was the type to keep it real blunt and honest. She was preceded into death by her parents, Donald Edgar Mitchell and Xenia Allen, her sisters, Tamera Mitchell and Yolanda Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Antonio LeVelle Mitchell (Johnna) Kansas City, MO and La’Vena Nicole King (Devontae) Kansas City, MO, her sisters and brother, Velma Rita Allen, Buffalo, NY, Antoniette D. Anderson (Keith) Buffalo, NY, Mark A. Mitchell, Boise, Idaho, Patsy Ybarra, Kansas City, MO, Marsha Bazzle (David), Kansas City, MO and Karen Taylor, Omaha, NE, her grandchildren, Curtis Mitchell, DeyShaun Pratt., Malachi Mitchell, DaKota Byers-Pratt., Vanity Byers-Pratt., Harmony Byers-Pratt., Loyalty Diane King, Quai Walker, Kenya Walker and a host of relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on July 1, 2023 from 5PM to 6PM.
