Dontae Amir Bronson

Dontae Amir Bronson Sr. was born on July 21, 1983, to Donald Lyman and Kimberly Bronson. He was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and graduated from Southeast High School in May 2002.

In 2002, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving with honor and receiving an honorable discharge.

Dontae welcomed his first-born daughter, Tania Bronson in 2004. She was a beautiful bundle of joy who brought light into his life.

From 2008 – 2010 he attended and graduated from Aviation Institute of Maintenance-Kansas City, MO and received certification for Aircraft Maintenance Technical Engineer and Avionics Maintenance Technology Technician.

In May 2010, Dontae married Alexis Mack, and to this union four wonderful children were born: Dontae Bronson Jr., Alex Bronson, Kash Bronson, and Charlotte Bronson.  In 2024 the marriage was dissolved but they formed a great co-parenting relationship.

Dontae was known for his quick wit, charm, and magnetic personality, which left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a loving son, devoted father, caring brother, cherished nephew, protective cousin and loyal friend. As a role model, he guided his siblings, children, younger cousins, and friends with wisdom and encouragement. His pep talks, coaching, and mentorship were instrumental in shaping his sons into the outstanding athletes they are today.

Dontae built a successful career in manufacturing operations, holding a series of leadership roles that took him to five different states. He took great pride in overseeing plant operations, ensuring strict safety compliance, and consistently delivering high-quality service. His career culminated in his role as Senior Operations Manager at Daily Premium Meats LLC.

With a bright smile and a fun-loving spirit, Dontae brought joy wherever he went. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his brother Daved Bronson, and paternal grandparents Lewis Lyman Sr. and Annie Lyman, maternal grandparents Helen Bronson and Arthur Bronson Jr.

Dontae leaves to cherish his memory father Donald Lyman; his mother Kimberly Bronson; sisters, Donisha Taylor (Ira) and Lareda Lyman; brother Jimmy Marshall; a special aunt, Linda Lyman who played a pivotal role in raising him. His cousin Charles Lyman with whom he shared a brotherly bond, and Laveta Hack, his sisters’ mom who loved him like a son, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
