Dora Mae Ross

Dora Mae Ross passed away on March 31, 2026, at Life Care Center in Grandview, Missouri. She was born on April 25, 1942, in Kansas City, Kansas to Dennis Johnson and Bernice Johnson. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri where Dora attended school.

Dora began working for Crown Center Hotel as a housekeeper for serval years until retirement.

Dora was married on June 26, 1970, to Melvin Ross Sr. And to this union they had a son: Melvin Ross Jr.

Dora was preceded into death by her parents: Dennis Johnson and Bernice Johnson; husband, Melvin Ross Sr.; three brothers: June Johnson, Richard Johnson and Terry Johnson; two sisters: Odessa Bennett, Joyce Pickens; one grandson, Micheal Ross; and one nephew, Terence Pickens.

Dora leaves to cherish her memory her son, Melvin Ross Jr., eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
