Doron Gaw

Doron Gaw, better known as “BIG D,” was born March 13, 1973, in Kansas City, Missouri from the union of Roosevelt and Vessarie (Canady) Gaw. He spent most of his life in Kansas City, Missouri, and 10 years in Dallas, Texas before relocating back to his hometown of Kansas City.  Doron received his education in the Kansas City School Missouri district where he was known for his laid-back personality and fresh style.

Doron had many interests and business ventures throughout the years and mainly HUSTLE which is what he was known to do. In his early years he installed audio beats in vehicles and moved up to opening a Cleaners/Convenient Store until he obtained his business Gaw Properties where he would buy and flip homes and sell cars.

Doron was one of a kind and humble. He often looked out for others and enjoyed the luxuries of life, especially when it came to his cars. He traveled across the world and often took family and friends too. He also loved hanging out with the Benton Boys, making memories with family and friends, entering and winning car shows, friendly crap games, and hosting holidays with his mother.

Doron was indeed a ladies’ man and with that said he created a legacy he loved to brag about. 8 Children and 3 Grandchildren. He had unconditional bonds with his siblings, nieces and nephews, and parents. Doron believed in Family Over Everything and he will truly be missed.

He departed this life on October 12, 2023, in Kansas City, MO and was preceded in death by his mother, Vessarie Gaw; grandmothers, Betty Leonard, Bessie Canady, and Viola Canady; grandfathers, Roosevelt Gaw Sr and Keeton Horn; uncle, Joe Canady; cousins, Vondell Mays, Darrick Jackson, and Marquise Kindred; and auntie/cousin Patricia Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memories: father, Roosevelt Gaw Jr; daughters, Akilah Pauley, DaiShaun Symone Gaw, Lauren Lafitte, Paris Gaw, Yu-Kiah Wilson, and Sidney Gaw; sons, Daron Robinson and D’Monte Gaw; grandchildren, Antwon Armstrong Jr, Daron Robinson Jr, and Emerie Gaw; sisters, Denisha Gaw-Khan (Abraham Khan) and Lyric Washington-Gaw; brothers, Devon Gaw Sr and Raevell Gaw; aunts, Regina Canady, Leverta Jackson, and Sharon Lou Canady; nieces, Daijah Gaw and Elsie Jackson; nephews, Devon Gaw Jr, Devontae Gaw, and Jayvon Gaw; an honorary son, Donzell Moore, and a host of cousins, special brothers, neighborhood friends, and loved ones.
