Listen to Obituary

Dorothy May Moore was born on July 29, 1945 in Spring Hill, Louisiana to Leola Chester-Moore. She grew up in Spring Hill and graduated from Brown High School.

Dorothy moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1969 with her husband, Rev. L. C. Drew and her two sons, Bernard and Bronson. She worked for Western Electric for many years and eventually retired in 1986 after many years of dedicated service.

Dorothy enjoyed taking care of her sons, grandson and their friends. In her spare time you could always find her listening to Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind & Fire and all the classics, which she enjoyed dearly.

Dorothy departed her earthly life on the evening of Sunday, June 16, 2019. She was welcomed with open arms by her mother, Leola; son, Bronson and siblings, Willie James Moore, Clarence Moore, Eugene Moore, Lee Ernest Moore, Benny Moore and Betty Jean Moore, who all preceded her in death.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memory, her son, Bernard A. Moore; her grandson, Jamar A. Brent; her god daughters, Dacia and Destiny Wright and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
