Dorothy Mae (Freeman) Williams was born on February 12, 1932. Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age. She was born to Hortense and Albert Harper. Dorothy was born in Kansas City, Missouri. During her time, she attended the Kansas City Missouri District. She worked at Phillips Hotel upon moving to Chicago, where she worked at the Holiday Inn as a maid, then a supervisor until she retired in 1994, then she moved back to Kansas City, Missouri. She departed her life on March 28, 2017. Dorothy (AKA) “Big Mama” was loved by many family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; Hortense and Albert Harper, husband; Willie James Williams Sr, previous husband; Monroe Freeman Sr, brother; Marion Porter of Los Angeles, CA., great grandson; Jarrold Griddine, great granddaughter; Precious An’Unique Hawkins, daughter; Diane (King) Lewis, son; Thurman L. Williams Sr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, sons; Darryl (Debra) Williams of Baltimore, MD, Monroe Freeman Jr, Terry (Wanda) Freeman of Kansas City, MO, and Willie James(LuAnn) Williams Jr of Madison, WI, daughters; Dorothy (Robert) Rimpson, Angelia Freeman, and Lawanda Freeman, all of Kansas City, Missouri, daughter-in-law; Katherine Williams of Kansas City, KS, 30 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren, 18 great great grand children, 2 sister-in-laws; Barbara McDonald, and Doris Smith, brother-in-law; Bobby Smith of Kansas City, KS, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and a very special sister-in-law; Betty Cutchlow (Booth) of Kansas City, MO
