Earnest L. Johnson, 61 passed away March 21, 2025 at home in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on January 24, 1964, in Coushatta, Louisiana to Willie James Johnson and Ella Mae Johnson. He grew up in Coushatta, Louisiana where he accepted Christ at an early age.
in 1977. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri, and later graduated from Southeast High School in 1982. After high school, he worked at Dick’s Chevrolet for many years before landing a job and retiring from Target Saws.
He loved horses and enjoyed riding. He joined Rough Riders Saddle Club, then later became a member of the Twin City Riders Saddle Club where he served as a proud member for many years. He enjoyed trail rides, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He loved Football and he loved his team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
He married Sonya Williams on May 18th, 1991, in Kansas City MO. They were happily married for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ella Mae Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri, and Willie James Johnson of Coushatta, Louisiana. He was also preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memories: 2 daughters: Earnisha Johnson and Raven Johnson, 3 other special children: Joshua and Jasmine Johnson, and Roslyn Reliford, 3 sisters: Bobbie Johnson (Curtis), Joann Thomas (Lester Sr.), and Alice Johnson, 3 grandsons: Davon Johnson, Jashaun Mitchell, and Joshua Jr., a grandchild on the way that he was elated about, 2 nephews: Lester Thomas and A.J. Johnson, and a host of additional special family and friends.
