Earnestine H. Hamilton

Earnestine Herlene Hamilton, 89, passed away on December 28th, 2023, at Life Care Center, in Grandview, MO. She was born on December 27th, 1934, in Muskogee, OK to Herely Thompson and Pauline E. Turner-Thompson. She grew up in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, KS. After high school she attended cosmetology school in Kansas City, KS, where she received a diploma in 1953.

She began work for Betty Rose Coat Factory as a secretary where she worked for 10 years, AT&T as a secretary for 3 years. She retired in 1977 after 10 years. She was involved in Ivanhoe (Vice President) Jazz Museum. She married Donald Hamilton in 1956 in Kansas City, KS. They were happily married for 50 years.

She is preceded into death by her mother – Pauline E. Turner-Thompson, Father – Herely Thompson, Husband – Donald Hamilton, Sisters – Betty Thompson-Richie and Mary Ellen Thompson-Billingsley.

She is survived by Son – Ricky L. Hamilton (Larecca), Sister – Valda Smith-King, Grandchildren – Rashad, Jerod, Archelle, Makila, Lamaya, and Malika, Greatgrandchildren (11), Nieces and Nephews, and a host of other relative and friends.
