Eddie L Bennett, Jr

Eddie Lee Bennett Jr (58) was born on March 14, 1961 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Eddie Lee Bennett and Emeldia Bennett.  Eddie attended Paseo High school in Kansas City MO. After High school Eddie attended Vocational School where he received a Body Technician Certification.  It was there he developed his love of cars. Eddie received Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Hope.

On June 25, 2004 Eddie married his love and soulmate, Veleatha Bennett where he immediately took on the role of father to Ramyia, Flariece and Shayna. He loved his family very much and always supported them in their dreams. He was an amazing provider and a hardworking father and husband dedicated to showing each of his leading ladies unconditional love.

For 30 years Eddie continued to master his craft for working on cars and devoted many years at Whitney Automotive.  There were also occasions where he worked on cars at his father’s shop. One of his favorite past times was attending the SEMA car show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Well known for lending a helping hand, it would not be uncommon to see him giving rides, feeding and advising the homeless. A true definition of the reach one teach one mentality, many community members looked to Eddie for advice and support in their dreams and future endeavors. Eddie continues to give even now as he wanted to donate his organs to help others

On June 8, 2019 Eddie Bennett gained his wings and ascended to his final resting place. He was welcomed into heaven by his Mother Emeldia Dixon, Maternal Grandmother Margret Bentley, Paternal Grandmother Leila “Big Mommy” Bennett

He leaves to cherish her memory: Beloved wife Veleatha M. Bennett of 15 years; Father, Eddie Lee Bennett Sr.  of Kansas City, MO; Daughters, Ramyia Silvers of Kansas City, MO, Flariece Wood of TX, Shayna Wood of Kansas City, MO; Siblings Velva Godard (Kevin) of GA,  Meldia Bennett of Kansas City, MO, Rhonda Williams, Anthony Bennett, Gregory Howard, Shavelle Howard all of Kansas City, MO, Chris Howard of CO, Jay Lark of MN, Angie Bennett of KS, and Latonya Jennings of NC,  and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
