Edward Robert Garrett, 69, passed away on January 8, 2021 at home in Kansas City, Missouri.  He was born on December 8, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas to Edward W. Lewis Sr. and Hazel Lee Bell. Edward grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Paseo High School.  After high school he attended Herndon Vocational School in Raytown, Missouri where he received a certification in Electronics.

On December 13, 1970 he married Charlie Marie Wilson and had two daughters, Ericka LaRon and Edwanda Rachelle Garrett. He was employed with Southwestern Bell as a Communications Technician where he worked for 20 years, then transitioned to Nortel Networks as an Installation Supervisor for 7 years. He worked for The City of Kansas City as a Maintenance Mechanic for 13 years and retired October 31, 2014.

On May 29, 1999 he married Cheryl Denise Parker. His hobbies included, riding motorcycles, bowling, fishing, repairing cars, photography and listening to music with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Edward W. Lewis Sr.; sisters, Gertrude L Teasley and Edris Hughes; brothers, Edward W. Lewis III and Roy M. Garrett.

He is survived by: his mother; Hazel Lee Kline; wife, Cheryl D. Garrett; daughters, Ericka L. Garrett, and Edwanda R. Garrett- Bland (James); granddaughters; his loving caregiver, Jasmine M. Garrett, and Jichelle M. Garrett; his beloved great granddaughters, Alora M. Williams, and Alaya M. Garrett – Iverson; a stepson, Kevin Parker; siblings; Eileen Taylor, Walter Meredith, Tyrone Meredith, Tashia Kline (Vanessa), Freddie Lewis, Adreas Lewis Sr., Jonathan Lewis, Kevin Johnson, Cecilia Lewis-Baker, Rosalyn Lewis, Sheryl Harris, Yvonne McCauley, Diane Norris, Linda Goodman, Valerie Johnson, Valencia A Lewis, and Audrey A Lewis; two best friends, Lonell Jones, and Joe Matson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
