Edward Carl Scott, 70, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on September 9, 2021 at Edgewood Manor in Raytown, Missouri.

He was born on February 3, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri to Joseph (Joe) Cole and Ernestine Scott. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and later in life met and married Leona Bierria (Shirley) and they were together for over 30 years.

Ed or Eddie, as he was affectionately known, was very caring and compassionate. He worked various jobs throughout the Kansas City area. He had a passion for music, having played the drums for the Pilgrim Outlets for several years and as well as the guitar. One of his favorite bands was Earth, Wind & Fire, along with various other music groups. He last worked for the Cancer Institute until his health declined. The staff and patients loved him and would often bring him caps from their vacations from all over the world. He had a love for football, drawing, and assembling and collecting model cars. He was a strong believer in God, having joined the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church as a young man and later occasionally attended the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith with his wife and family. One of his favorite sayings was, “The book, your book, has already been written.”

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph (Joe) Cole and Ernestine Scott, his wife Leona Bierria, his sister Wilma Jean Scott, his son Edward Carl Scott, Jr. and his grandson Donald Bierria III.

Edward leaves behind his two daughters Kmeal Winters and Cassandra Wright, his stepson Donald Bierria, Jr., three sisters: Sharon (Gene) Foreman, Joann Murray, and Jerri Garrison, two brothers: Maurice Scott and Robert Cole, his sister-in-law Tressie Smith, brother-in laws Ervin Ross, Jr. (Linda) and Bill Ross (Ramona), 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was also an uncle, cousin, and friend to many and will be dearly missed by everyone.
