Edward Thomas Jr., 61, of Kansas City, MO passed away on December 23, 2017 at Research Medical Center.

Edward Thomas was born in Kansas City, MO to Edward Thomas Sr. and Verta M. Evans on March 19,1956. He was educated in the Kansas City Missouri School District. He worked as a contractor before falling ill. He loved hanging out and cracking jokes with his nephews and friends, who affectionately knew him as “School”. He loved watching cowboy movies and his favorite movie was the Five Heartbeats. He also loved to cook.

Edward Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Thomas Sr. and Verta M. Evans; his nephew, Raymon Thomas also precedes him in death.

Edward Thomas is survived by his daughter, Whitney Redmond; two grandchildren, Cherokee Redmond and Chase Redmond; one uncle, Emery Fayne; one aunt, Margie Jean King; sisters, Vernetta Adair, Sandy Newman (Lloyd), Ella Thomas (Donald), Carol Ann Reese, Linda Thomas, Barbara Dryer, Felecia Thomas(Lynn), La’Shaun Pickett(Michael), Sonya Singleton, Crystal Primers (Bobby Sr) and Brenda Kearney; brothers, DeAnthony Thomas (Susan), Kevin Reese, Gerald Reese, Alvin Riley, Chester Holiday, Anthony Riley, Calvin Reed and Andre Dorsey, and a host of nieces and nephews. Two best friends, Eugene Calvert and Shevelle Meyers.
