Edwin James Pilcher, known to those who loved him as Ed, was born August 20, 19 59 to Dorothy Allen and James Pilcher in Kansas City, Kansas. Edwin was the fourth child of six. Edwin professed his faith in Christ at an early age. He later rededicated his life and joined New Creation of Faith Church under Pastor Alonzo Moore. Ed was educated through the Kansas City, Kansas School District and later graduated from Washington High School. After graduating high school, Ed furthered his education obtaining his Associates degree in General Studies along with receiving a certification in Culinary Arts. Ed displayed an interest in cooking at a very young age. Ed always had a desire to open his own restaurant. In addition to cooking, his hobbies included two stepping, talking on the phone to family, telling jokes, and spending time with his grandchildren. Ed also loved traveling to California to visit family. On August 27, 1587, Ed married Brenda Hall. Ed was a devoted husband who loved spending time with his wife. Ed and Brenda shared four children together. Ed and Brenda also shared a total of twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Allen; father, James Pilcher; sister, Barbara Pilcher; brothers Lester Allen and Woody Pilcher along with his granddaughter, Ranika Hall. Ed leaves many to cherish his memory including his wife, Brenda Pilcher; only son Edwin L. Pilcher; daughters Nicole Hall, Brandy Pilcher (Orteze Smocks), and Brittany Carter (James Carter). In addition to siblings, Margaret Pilcher, Janet Pilcher, Margie Pilcher, Ladora Lattimore, Lynda Brown, Turner Allen Pilcher, James Pilcher (Brenda); aunt Margaret King and uncle Richard Allen along with grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
