Early Life and Education
Elayjah was born on March 7, 2007, to Lezlie and Terrell. She was a proud Missouri State University Freshman and recent graduate of William Chrisman High School. Elayjah was preceded in death by her father, grandfather, maternal and paternal great-grandparents and Grandma Janice.
Academic and Athletic Achievements
Elayjah was a student athlete, actively participating in basketball, volleyball, and track & field. She made her mark in the classroom, on the court, and on the field.
Spiritual Life
She attended Community Praise Worship & World Outreach Center in Kansas City, Missouri and Graceway Church in Raytown, Missouri where she found comfort, inspiration, and guidance, forming meaningful connections that enriched her spiritual journey.
Personal Interests and Relationships
Elayjah enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed traveling. She was deeply loved for her spirited attitude, sense of humor, and her infectious smile. Elayjah’s joyful presence and loving spirit created lasting memories for all who knew her.
Legacy and Remembrance
Elayjah departed this life on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Her memory will always be cherished by her mother, Lezlie; her brother, JaVian; her sister, I’Lynn; four additional siblings: Hailey, Aniyah, Tayvion, and Peyton; her maternal grandmother, Jearl, affectionately known as “Nan”; her paternal grandfather, Johnny Grigsby Sr.; her paternal grandmother, Trina Nwogu, uncles: Clarence Thomas III (Christina); Johnny Grigsby Jr., (Latrina); Jermaine Murray, Cortez Murray, Jamil Robinson; aunts: Janeva Hamilton (Barry); Jamesha Grigsby, Brandy Murray, Katina Murray; Javon Taylor, and Mary Miller, a large extended family including great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and many friends.
