Elder Robert Cleveland Jr., 84, returned home on August 18th, 2023 at
University Health Lakewood Care Center around his loved ones. He was
born on October 5th, 1938 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Robert Cleveland,
Sr. and Alice Neal. He grew up in Elaine, Arkansas. He received his
education from Phillips County Education System. He accepted Christ at
an early age and was baptized by Elder Lee Henderson. In Arkansas, he
was ordained as a preacher in 1975 by Bishop Jackson and Elder Haynes
and in 1981 was appointed to be an Apostle.
He worked as a farmer until moving to Chicago, IL. He had various
jobs until he started as a factory worker at Container Corporation in
Dayton, IL. Under the leadership of Bishop Jackson, he was called to
Ministry at the Church of the Loving GOD P.G.O.T.T. in Kansas City, MO.
In 1986, he and his family moved without hesitation and he remained
there faithfully until God called him home on August 18th, 2023. He
married Ada Mae Ewing on December 21st, 1957. To this union their love
multiplied four times Barbara (Caryl) Johnson of Kansas City, MO; Robert
(Carrie) Cleveland of Ferrelview, MO; Shawn (Crystal) Cleveland of
Independence, MO; and Angie (Edward) Shelton of Overland Park, KS.
He was proceeded in death by his Father Robert Cleveland Sr., his
Mom, Alice Neal-Cleveland, Brother Tommie Cleveland, Sisters-Janie
Mae Cleveland, and Willie Beatrice Richardson. He leaves to cherish his
memories his wife Ada Mae Cleveland, his two sons and two daughters,
one special son, Elder Derrick Abbott; two special daughters, Patricia
Abbott of Georgia; and Renee Huston of Kansas City, MO, along with
bonus daughter Tasha Mills-Harvey (LeAnthony Harvey) of Grandview,
MO. and two special cousins, Kate Hart of Mississippi and Queen
Spears of Oklahoma; 14 grandkids: Jermar, Remie, Rhiannon, Jaelyn,
Jordan, Jeslie, Devin, Josh, Shyann, Tyler, Kayla, Brian, Unique, Caryl
Jr., Rashonda, Jessica, David and 16 great-grand kids; 2 great-greatgrandkids
and a host of cousins, nieces, as well as other family and
friends.
