Elder Tony Fishback, age 66, was born on October 3, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri, to LeRoy and Zenobia (Carter) Fishback. Their only child, Tony was deeply cherished and blessed many lives through his faith, music, and service. He peacefully departed this life on July 30, 2026, at the age of 66, and was preceded in death by both of his parents. 

Tony received his education in the Kansas City Missouri School District. He attended Greenwood Elementary School and Central Middle School before graduating from Lincoln High School; Class of 1977. 

A devoted man of faith, Tony faithfully served as an Elder at Central Christian Church. He was also an active and dedicated member of the church's music ministry, sharing his God-given talent to inspire and uplift others through worship. 

Music was both Tony's passion and life's work. Committed to honing his craft, he attended the University of Kansas, where he studied voice and participated in theater productions, before transferring to the University of Missouri-Kansas City. There he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance. He later continued his studies at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he received a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance. 

Throughout his life, Tony used his musical gifts to educate, mentor, and encourage others. For many years, he served as an Adjunct Music Instructor at Penn Valley Community College, teaching Music Theory, Music Appreciation, voice, and piano courses, as well as providing private instruction. He also coordinated student concerts and recitals, helping aspiring musicians develop their talents and confidence. 

Tony further shared his love of music as a Vocal Music Teacher and Accompanist for the Kansas City Public School District, where he taught and inspired middle and high school students. Through his dedication, patience, and expertise, he left a lasting impact on countless young people. 

Tony's music, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to others will be remembered and cherished for generations to come. His legacy of faith, excellence, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, including his: sister, Shawn Rogers; brother, Herman Rogers; God-son, Jevon Rogers-Freelon; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends.
