Elijah Truelove II was born January 11, 1943, to the late Nate Cupp and Orlean Truelove in New Church, Alabama. It was later that Ms. Truelove would marry Mr. Mumphis Northington, who raised Elijah into young adulthood. Elijah attended Lamar County School in Vernon, Alabama and Ada Hanna High School in Bexar, Alabama. Elijah accepted Jesus Christ at an early age attending the Rocky Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Bexar, Alabama.
Elijah was a hard worker whose professional career span over 40 years at Certain Teed Corporation where he retired. Elijah hobbies were keeping his cars shining and clean, watching NASCAR attending new car shows, watching his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide, Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.
Elijah became a member of the Lutheran Church in 1971 and was very active and served faithfully as member and Usher at Peace Lutheran Church.
Elijah was proceeded in death by his parents, and one brother.
Elijah leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 53 years, Cathrine Truelove; one daughter Evonne Truelove of Kansas City, Kansas, two sons Elijah Truelove III(Kim) Olathe, Ks Rodney Truelove (Blanche) Baton Rouge, La. Two grandchildren Caleb Truelove, Kierra Truelove. Goddaughter Stacey Johnson Kansas City, Mo. Four brothers: Bill(Mary) Northington, Lee’s Summit, Mo, James (Missinna) Northington, Raytown, Mo, Jimmy(LaShawn) Northington Lee’s Summit, Mo, Tony Northington, Sydney Oh, Four sisters: Patricia(John) Williams, Kansas City, Mo, Martha Coleman, Hamilton, Al, Janice(Steve) Young, Denver, Co, Linda Williams, Hamilton, Al, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
