Eric La'Rue Mack Sr.

Eric La'Rue Mack Sr., age 57, was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on March 12, 1969, to Wright Mack and Janice (Woods) Mack. Eric passed away on June 16, 2026. He grew up in Kansas City surrounded by a large family and a host of siblings: Tony, Marcellus, Victor, Rhonda, Frank and Curtis. Eric was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings: Rhonda Mack, Frank Anderson, and Curtis Mack. He leaves behind a legacy through his children: MonCherie Mack, Terry Mack, Reginold Mack, Eric Mack Jr. and Melonne McBride, along with extended family members & friends who will cherish his memory.

Eulogy:

Eric Mack sowed his roots in Kansas City. Family mattered to him, and the people he loved always held a special place in his heart.

Eric was an independent contractor and a man who truly "moved to the beat of his own drum". He lived life on his own terms and wasn't afraid to carve his own path. He taught us, whether he realized it or not, that there is value in being yourself and standing firmly in who you are. If you knew Eric, you knew he loved his cars. He could spend hours restoring them, repurposing them, and bringing new life to something others might have overlooked. He had a gift for seeing potential where others saw problems. He loved a good meal, an old western, a family cookout, and any opportunity to gather with the people he cared about. He also had a love for his music and reading. Some of the best memories of him are found in those simple moments of food, family, and laughter. Above all else, he loved to laugh. He was the kind of person who would tell a joke, give you a nickname that somehow stuck forever, or ask you a riddle that you're probably still trying to figure out today. He had a way of bringing humor into everyday life and reminding us not to take everything so seriously. Most importantly, he loved his children. That love remains a part of his legacy and will continue through all of us who carry his name, his lessons, and his memories forward. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the life he lived, the laughter he shared, the work of his hands, and the love he gave to family and friends. We are grateful for the time we had with him and for the memories that will stay with us forever. Eric's memory will continue to live on in the stories, laughter, and moments shared by those who knew and loved him.
