Ernest Jones

Ernest Jones passed away July 11th at his home. Ernest was born December 19th 1959 to Sandra Harris Jones and Lee Thompson. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather, his father Lee Thompson, his son Jason Houcks, brother Charles Andrew Jr, and sister Sandra Rene' Jones. Prior to his health failing he was a delivery driver for Plaza Ford Ideal. He also worked for National Envelope. Ernest was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He always kept candy, cookies, and Ramen Noodles around, and of course a few dollars for them along with the niece's and nephew's. He loved to follow their activities on Facebook. He loved being around his friends and visiting with neighbors. He enjoyed studying the Bible and painting from Velvet pictures that he would buy at The Dollar Store, he had them all over his house. He had much love for his deceased sons dog (Sheba), he was his constant companion. He ate and slept with him, he even had a bedroom for him that he did not use. Ernest Jones leaves to cherish his memories his mother Sandra Jones, stepmother Thalia Phillips of California, paternal grandmother Frances Thompson, four brothers Damon Thompson (Laynette) of Gardenia, California, Melvin Jones (Joyce) of Kansas City, Christopher Jones, and John Jones of Kansas City. Two sisters Veronica Toliver of Grandview Missouri, and Kim Webb of Texas, several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and a special friend Denise Kelly. Services will be held 1:00 pm Monday July 18th, 2016 visitation 12-1 at St Therese Little Flower 5814 Euclid Kansas City, MO 64130 burial Brooking Cemetery.
