Ernestine Bennett was born to Willard and Titus Holloway on July 6, 1936 in Meridian, Oklahoma. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Ellsworth Bennett; two sisters: Savanah Holloway, and Modean Wilson; five brothers: Melvin Holloway, twin brother Ernest Holloway, Thomas Holloway, Nathaniel Holloway, Hermon Holloway; and bonus son, Stephen Ginn.

Ernestine received her formal education in Oklahoma. Ernestine obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Oklahoma State University and Master’s Degree from UMKC in Special Education. She worked as a teacher for many years. Ernestine received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior over 60 years ago. As a child she attended Lawson Temple COGIC in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

After moving to the Kansas City area, she attended Madden Temple. Later, Ernestine joined Greater Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in the 1960s. She was an active member of Greater Holy Temple and served faithfully as a beloved Sunday School teacher, Deaconess, and choir member.

Ernestine held a special place in the hearts of many. She was loving, enjoyed children, was a good listener, and secret keeper. She loved to sing about the Lord, and she would often give gentle and helpful advice.

Ernestine will be greatly missed and leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted and loving family, three sisters: Queen Esther Maxwell, Marie BoBo and Barbara Holloway; two daughters: Sabrina (Josh) Swain, India Bennett; a bonus daughter, Erika (Kevin) Nesbitt; granddaughter Izabella Swain; bonus granddaughter, Starla, and a host of other relatives and friends.
