On Thursday, January 13th, 2022, Etex James, loving father of five children, passed away at age 84. Etex was born in Paraloma, Arkansas on February 29th, 1937 to Abe James & Lola James.
Etex joined Scott’s Memorial Methodist church at an early age. He attended Annie M.P. Strong High school and graduated from Howard County High School in Tollette, Arkansas. After he graduated he moved to California while studying to be a mechanic. He then moved to Kansas City, Missouri to open a mechanic business while working at Armour Meat Company and Lake City Ammunition Plant. He proceeded with his last moment of work as a mechanic at Dave’s Auto Repair at the age of 84.
Etex enjoyed playing dominos, working on cars, and fishing. He enjoyed barbecuing and frying fish for family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling back to his hometown in Paraloma, Arkansas for family homecoming events every year. Etex was a caring, humorous, humbled, loving, and hardworking man.
Etex was preceded in death by his parents; Abe, and Lola James, His Daughter; Avera James, and Eleven brothers and four sisters. He was survived by his four children; Donnell Draper, Casey Draper, Lolita Wesley (Charles Wesley), and Jan Draper. Four Grandchildren; Teresa N. Williams, Caseyona Mullin, Ma’Kese T. Wesley, and Sasha J. Draper. Four Great-grandchildren; Lakheem Y. Delk, Kayleigh A. Jordan Reed, Kaydence M. Reed, and Cherish D. Mullin . Five stepchildren, seventeen extended grandchildren, and his brother John W. James of Kansas City, MO. He also leaves to cherish nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
