On Dec 10, 1930, a baby girl was born in Gonzalez, TX to Marion Stewart and Bertha Lee Davis. During her childhood Ethel attended public school in Yorktown Texas. She moved to San Antonio, TX at an early age where she furthered her education at Phyllis Wheatley High School. Ethel was baptized at an early age. She was joined in holy matrimony to L. C. Taylor. This union produced 6 children. They made Kansas City their home. She joined St. Stephens Baptist church and has been a member for over 60 years. She worked at Jenkins Music Co. and retired from Woodley Building Maintenance and spent her retirement years volunteering at Genesis school. She was a member of Oak Park Neighborhood Club. She enjoyed spending time with her children, family and friends. Her favorite hobbies were bowling, reading and watching MSNBC.
Ethel departed this life on May 25, 2023, at St. Lukes hospital. She was proceeded in death by her parents (Marion Stewart and Bertha Davis), Husband (L.C. Taylor), Two children (Barbara McDonald and Reginald Taylor), 2 Siblings (Edwin Stewart Sr and Rhoda Jordan), 3 Grandsons (Richard Taylor, Ryan Taylor and Anthony Taylor).
She leaves to cherish her memory 4 Children (Artie Taylor and Karen Taylor of Kansas City, MO, Yasmine Matthews (Melvin) of Fontana, California, Lisa Garlington (Stanley) of Shawnee, Kansas and a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
