Fentress L. Strother, 72, passed away on August 18, 2022 at his home in Kansas City, MO. He was born on November 28, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to Henry Lloyd Strother and Allie Mae Smith. He grew up in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from the Kansas City, MO School District in 1967. Shortly after, Fentress joined the Army and served for 15 years. He began working for JE Dunn Construction during the 1990’s as an Iron Worker where he worked for 10 years. In the early 2000’s, Fentress was employed with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority as a Bus Operator until his retirement. Fentress loved his family, cold cuts and cookies. On October 6, 1977, Fentress married Claudette and to this union 3 children were born. This union was later dissolved.

Fentress leaves to cherish his memory, his loving family: three sons, Fentress Mayberry, Shawn Mayberry and Brett Mayberry all of Kansas City, MO; four brothers: Fredrick Strother (Marquita) of Kansas City, MO, Leonard Strother (Debra) of Raytown, MO, Allen Smith of Raymore, MO, and Curtis Smith of Stockton, CA; one sister: Lavern Kindle (Derrick) of Kansas City, MO: five grandchildren; Shawn Mayberry Jr., Dominic Mayberry, Zakiya Mayberry, Brett Mayberry Jr. and Jaheim Mayberry all of Kansas City, MO and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
