Franklin Delano Jones Jr., affectionately known as “Little Frank”, was born on March 20, 1989, to the union of Franklin Jones Sr. and Rita Jones. He transitioned peacefully on February 3, 2026.
Franklin received his education in the Grandview School District and was a proud graduate of Grandview Senior High School. He furthered his education by completing coursework at Vatterott College. A man of many talents, Franklin was skilled in various areas of life; however, he took great pride in his career as a dedicated forklift driver, where he was known for his dependability, strong work ethic, and commitment.
Franklin was well known for his infectious smile, playful sense of humor, and the ability to bring joy to those around him. To his family and loved ones, he was more than a brother—he was a confidant, protector, and source of constant laughter.
He shared a special bond with children, especially his nieces and nephews, whom he loved as his own long before learning he had a daughter. Fatherhood was a lifelong dream for Franklin, and discovering his daughter brought him immense pride and purpose.
Though Franklin faced personal challenges quietly, he is now at peace and no longer burdened by suffering. His life leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Franklin was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Mabel Rogers and Gladis Cabine; great-grandfather, James Rogers Sr.; grandmothers, Ginger Elbert and Lonze Pierce; grandfather, Jessie Elbert Sr.; one uncle, Harold Ervin Jr.; aunts, Ernestine Mooreman and Carlotta Higgs; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Franklin leaves to cherish his memories his loving father, Franklin Jones Sr.; devoted mother, Rita Jones; beloved daughter, Dereon Blunt; and his faithful companion, Lady Jones. He is also survived by his sisters: Eunishaia Dunbar, April McConnell (Mack McConnell), and Lonze Jones (Christopher Williams); his 8 Ball brothers and sisters; Euniece Dunbar, Matthew Gilmore, John Gilmore, Brenda Dunbar, Corey Smith, Rosemary Staten, and Wytis Tinner; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Franklin Delano Jones Jr. will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing and loving him.
