Gone But Never Forgotten

Ms. Freda Davis, 86, passed away on the afternoon of July 26, 2026, at K.U. Medical Center. She was born on April 10, 1940, to Fred and Vivian Conway in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the oldest of eight siblings.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Conway Jr.; her mother, Vivian Earlene Conway; her brothers, Freddie Boy, Ronald Conway, and Edwin "Pete" Washington; her grandson, Jamal Washington; her great-grandson, Jamal Washington Jr.; her dear cousins, Sandra Young, Ernestine Johnson, and Rose McGautha; and her dear friends, Erma and Ann.

Freda was baptized in 1955 at Greystone Heights Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of Saint John's Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas, until her homegoing. She attended school in the Kansas City, Missouri, School District. She worked at Swope Park Health Center for 10 years before retiring in 1991.

Freda was well loved and cherished by many. She loved her family and friends dearly. She enjoyed making home videos, playing Bid Whist, watching Tyler Perry shows, and talking on the phone with her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her everlasting memories, her children: Cynthia Patterson (Henry) and Ernest Washington (Judy); her siblings: William Conway (Lucille), Ernest Conway Sr. (Freddie), Fredrick Conway, Tanya Schroeger (Gary), Augustine Burns, and Dennis Washington; her dear cousin, Barbara Hill; her grandchildren: Jamie Washington, Fareeda Washington (Rosie), Latricia Marshall, Carl Patterson, and Quasim Washington (Tasha); 14 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and other loving family and friends.
