Listen to Obituary

Freddie Pouncil, 85, passed away on July 13, 2024 at Ignite Medical Resort in Kansas City, MO. He was born August 8, 1938 in Kansas City, MO to Edward Eugene Pouncil Sr and Bertha Chambers Pouncil who proceeded him in death along with his loving wife Lois Pouncil, Daughter Frankie Dickey, Son Lionel Hamilton. Brothers Carl Pouncil, Marcellus Pouncil, Alfred Lee Pouncil, Edward E Pouncil Jr, Theotis Pouncil, Darrall Pouncil. Sisters Dorothy Mae Baird and Blanche Sims.

Freddie grew up in the KC Leeds Community. He began working for General Motors as an assembly man and moved up in the company before retiring after over 27 years. Freddie then operated his own business “Pouncil’s Small Engine Repair” fixing lawn equipment for over 2 decades before retiring. He was known as The Lawn Mower Man.

He was involved in “The Esquire Men’s Club” as a young man. Freddie’s great pleasures were spending time with all of his family, hunting, fishing and building with his hands with his brothers.

He was happily married to Lois Packnett Pouncil for almost 40 years.

Freddie would lend anyone a helping hand whether he knew them or not. He would take the time to teach you if you did not understand. He had his own special way of critiquing and praising you. Freddie had many friends going back over 7 decades.

Some of his famous lines were: “Use your head for more than just a hat rack” , “He/She is crazier than a pet coon”, “You can make your mouth say anything” or “Boah, he or she is tight”. Freddie had a great sense a humor until he took his last breath.
