Reflecting on Her Life
Fredenalda “Stormy” Kuulei Price, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Kahaluu, Hawaii, Stormy carried the warmth, resilience, and spirit of the islands with her throughout her life, always striving to spread Aloha wherever she went. Above all, Stormy was devoted to her family and friends.
Stormy was preceded in death by her mother, Edwina Watson; father, Henry Akima; stepfather, Allen Hodgie; sister, Charmaine “Kawai” Arrington; and father-in-law, Thomas Simmons.
Stormy proudly served her country in the United States Army for seven years, where she met the love of her life, James E. Price, with whom she built a family. Their bond was built on love, laughter, strength, loyalty, and a promise they lived by for 40 years … for better or worse … 4KEEPS. She later continued her public service through a dedicated 26-year career as a claim representative with the Social Security Administration – continuously earning numerous meritorious awards and accolades before retiring in December 2021 after 33-years of working with the federal government.
Stormy found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments – cheering on her children at their games, embracing her siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews, traveling the country, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, visiting the casino, and spending time with her bingo friends. She brought laughter, warmth, and strength to every space she entered.
Her legacy is one of service, affection, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. Stormy lived with love, strength, and left behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to guide those who loved her.
She is survived by her husband, James; son, Jerrell-Robert Kaniala Price (Nathan Pytel); daughters, Jocelyn-Chaunte Kawaipuilani Price and Jamesia-Tomesa Kuulei Tuiava (Opetaia Tuiava) and stepdaughter, Jasmine Louis (Will Louis); granddaughter, Brooklynn Louis; foreign exchange daughter, Aaminah Ghazal who reside in Pakistan; sisters, Eddie Jo “Kauka” Akima and Janet “Naʻala” Benjamin (Shellie Benjamin); brother-in-law, Derek Arrington; mother-in-law, Juanita Simmons; brother-in-laws, Leon Woods (Carmilla Woods) and Robert Williams (Tiffany Ross); sister-in-laws, Angela Manning (Randall Manning), Doris Williams and Bobbie Ellen Davis (Johnell Davis); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Stormy will be cremated, with a portion of her ashes laid to rest at Leavenworth National Cemetery in honor of her military service. Her remaining ashes will be returned home to Hawaii and set free, where she will rest alongside her mother, father, and stepfather. Stormy will be deeply missed and forever remembered. 4KEEPS.
