George Calhoun, Sr “Pie”

George Taft Calhoun Sr, 56, was born on September 28, 1960 to William and MaryJo Calhoun in Kansas City, MO.

George accepted Christ into his heart and life at an early age at St. Paul Baptist Church. He attended Central High School but later went and received his GED through the Independence School District. He held multiple professions throughout his life. He maintained his career at Price Chopper as the Assistant Manager of the seafood department from 2001 until his departure from earth.

George became one with his soul mate, Lisa Calhoun, on September 26, 1997. George was well known in the town of Kansas City by his alter ego “Pie”. He enjoyed life to the fullest from fishing, to hunting, to the Chief’s games (and practices) to just be with his children, grandkids, family, and friends. He was a stand up guy that could bring joy to anyone’s heart.

George was preceded in death by his mother; MaryJo Calhoun and two sons; George Calhoun, Jr, and Chauncey Calhoun. He leaves to cherish in memory his father; William Calhoun, Sr, his wife Lisa Calhoun, one sister; Frances Jackson(John), two brothers; William Calhoun, Jr, and Melvin Calhoun, Sr, a very special brother/friend; Bruce Williams, three sons; Andre' Powell, Anthony Calhoun, and Alexander Calhoun, four daughters; Briona Powell, Kanesha Calhoun(Kisha), Mary Calhoun, and Asia Evans(Charles). He also leaves 14 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
