George A. Dennis, Jr.

George Anderson Dennis Jr., 57, was born on January 4, 1961 in Kansas City, Kansas, to the proud parents of George Dennis Sr., and Cleopatra Dennis. He received his education in the Kansas City Missouri Public Schools, attending Horaceman Elementary School, and Emmanuel High School, graduating and receiving his diploma from Central High School.

George worked for University of Kansas Hospital for 25 years as a cook in the Food and Nutrition, and later worked in Maintenance. He also worked for Cooks Ham for 2 years and Tyson Foods for 5 years.

George had a very strong passion and love for music, especially rap and jazz. Growing up, he was able to learn how to play the drums and the bongo. He also loved hearing a 5-string guitar, especially by Will Downing and Julian Vaughn. George loved to have fun any chance he could especially hanging out with his friends. He loved his family very much. One of his favorite things to do was two-stepping. If there was an event with family or friends, and dancing was involved, you would see George in the middle of a crowd, with all eyes on him as he would twirl and two-stepped with ease. Another activity he enjoyed was making sure he stayed fit. He loved lifting weights and hanging with the fellas on any given day.

George made his heavenly transition from labor to reward on February 6, 2018.

He is preceded into death by his father; George A. Dennis, Sr., niece; Tonia L. Brown, nephew; Paul J. Williams, Jr.

He is survived by his mother; Cleopatra Dennis, three sisters; Thurma Logan, Patsy L. Davis, Lisa A. Dennis; granddaughter Dalis Thibobeaux, god daughter; Natasha Robinson (Ty Robinson, Liam Robinson, Autum Robinson, Karson Clincy), nephews; Torrence Jones, Samuel Crockett, Glenn Davis, Jr., Anthony Johnson, Joseph Davis, Lance Dennis, Virgil Dennis, Cliffton Dennis, nieces; Allene Williams, Yolanda Martinez, Evette Slavery, Jalanna Davis, George’s Angel’s; Sheila Morton and Marcia Hamm and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
